We have a toddler among us y’all! Jaliea turned 18 months a couple weeks ago and we are still trying to figure out where the time went. I feel like we were just doing the last minute touches in our home to prepare for her arrival yesterday. From sanitizing bottles, to washing her clothes and constantly repacking our hospital bag. I know that I can’t be the only one who was paranoid that I’d end up leaving something I needed. How many of my fellow mama-bears can relate?
Considering I’ve been M.I.A. since my last blog post, I decided to give you guys a little update with Jaliea and share her May favourite.
(At the end of each month, I’ll be sharing what our favourite(s) were for that month)
18 MONTHS UPDATE
AGE: 18 months
WEIGHT: 20lbs
DIAPER SIZE: Size 4 pampers
CLOTHES SIZE: 12-18 months are too exact & 18-24 months are too big
SLEEP SCHEDULE: Home girl has slept through the night since 3 months old however there is something called the “18 month sleep regression” that we are just getting over (waking up at 2/3am and not going back to sleep until 5/6am). We try to take 1 nap in the early afternoon and aim for an 8pm bedtime.
MILESTONES: Says her ABC’s by herself, counts from 1-10 on her own, saying new words/phrases (strawberries, excuse me, wait), sits on potty upon command (still working on the auto-function)

LOVEVERY

WHAT DID WE GET?
We received The Block Set and absolutely love it.
The name may not sound all that exciting but believe me when I say that your child will love it (so will their father if he’s anything like my husband). Jaliea has practically forgotten that she had other toys prior to its arrival. The set comes with 70 pieces in 18 different shapes and tools perfectly arranged into a wooden storage box that can be converted into a pull car. The complete set allows for more than 20 different activities and the blocks are excellent quality with amazingly bright coloured water-based non-toxic paints. It is created for children aged 18-48 months, so we’ll have sometime with this. The included drawstring storage bag makes the transportation of a selection of pieces a breeze. Apart from what comes inside the box, Lovevery truly wanted to ensure that every part of the kit served a purpose and this is true of both the box lid and divider within which serve as a shape-sorter and ramp respectively.
At the moment, Jaliea’s most cherished items from the set appear to be the magnetic wheels and dowels. The act of connecting them together and taking them apart as well as rolling them across the floor could easily entertain her for hours. Personally, my favourite is the threading blocks of different colors which brought back memories of when I was younger and would help my great grandma to thread her needles for sewing. Naturally, this helps with fine motor skills such as hand & eye coordination.
With so many different ways to use it, we are still making our way through the set’s full potential however I would highly encourage you to check out what Lovevery may have for you and your little one if you have not already done so. Afterall, the best kind of play also include some learning!
