OREO BANANA BREAD

Equipment

  • 1 Bread Loaf Pan

  • 1  Medium Mixing Bowl

  • Measuring Cups

Ingredients
  

  • 4 Ripened Bananas previously frozen then thawed and mashed
  • 1/3 Cup Unsalted Butter melted
  • 3/4 Cup Granulated White Sugar
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 Tsp Pure Vanilla Extract
  • 1 1/2 Cup All Purpose Flour
  • 1 Tsp Baking Soda
  • 1/4 Tsp Salt
  • 1 1/2 Cup Oreos chopped

The Glaze

  • 1 Cup Powdered Sugar
  • 2 Tbsp Milk
  • 1 Tbs Vanilla
  • 1/2 Cup Oreos chopped

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (176°C) and spray a loaf pan with non-stick cooking spray or grease with butter and set aside.
  • In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda and salt; set aside.
  • Melt butter, and let rest to cool slightly.
  • In a large mixing bowl, add the mashed banana (if previously frozen then thawed; mash bananas with the liquid – this has tons of flavour).
  • Add granulated white sugar, eggs, and pure vanilla extract; stir until well combined, then mix in butter.
  • Stir in flour mixture and mix together with a spatula until well combined.
  • Add in the chopped Oreo cookies.
  • Mix together until evenly distributed.
  • Pour the batter into prepared loaf pan and bake for 50 – 60 minutes or until golden brown on top and a toothpick inserted in the center of the bread comes out clean.
  • Let cool for 10 minutes in the pan before transferring to a wire cooling rack to cool completely.

THE GLAZE

  • Whisk together the glaze ingredients (powdered sugar, milk and vanilla) in a small bowl until smooth.
  • Drizzle over the top of the loaf.
  • Top with chopped Oreo cookies. Let it set for 5-10 minutes before slicing and serving. ENJOY!!!
